24"W x 15"H LDPE dip stencil with 12" letters for roadways, parking lots, and walkways

Overview

The DIP stencil is a flexible plastic painting template sized 24"W x 15"H with 12" letters, used to mark depressions and low points on roadways, parking lots, and walkways. Place it on the pavement, spray or paint over it, then remove—the stencil leaves a bold, durable marking that alerts drivers to road hazards ahead.

Made from LDPE plastic, the stencil flexes and rolls for storage and transport. Paint dries to the surface while the plastic remains clean; flexing the stencil breaks the paint bond so dry paint peels off easily (water-based and latex paints; not recommended for oil-based). It cuts labor and material costs compared to permanent signage or posts.

Primary Applications

  • Roadways: Mark dips and depression areas on streets to alert drivers to uneven surfaces ahead.
  • Parking lots: Identify low spots or drainage areas that could pose a hazard to vehicles.
  • Walkways: Warn pedestrians and cyclists of uneven or sunken sections.
  • Multi-site operations: Standardize hazard marking across warehouses, retail centers, and neighborhoods with consistent stencil placement.

FAQ & Care

What does the stencil mark?
The stencil marks a dip—a depression or low point in a road surface. The painted warning alerts drivers to reduce speed and proceed with caution over the uneven area.
How do I use it?
Lay the stencil flat on the pavement, spray or paint over the openings, let the paint dry, then remove the stencil. The painted marking stays on the surface.
How do I clean the stencil after use?
Flex the stencil to break the bond between dry paint and plastic; the paint will peel off. This works for water-based and latex paints but is not recommended for oil-based paints.
Can I store it easily?
The LDPE plastic is flexible and rollable, so it stores flat or rolled without taking up much space.
Do you offer bulk orders for multiple locations?
Bulk orders for stencil marking across multiple sites or neighborhoods can be placed directly with the manufacturer. Custom sizes and letter heights are available on request.

A dip stencil is a visual marking used on roadways to indicate a depression or low point in the road surface. It typically consists of the word dip written in bold, capitalized letters, often in a bright color like yellow or white, painted directly onto the pavement.

These stencils are strategically placed on the road surface before the location of the depression or low point to provide advance warning to drivers. The purpose of a dip stencil is to alert motorists to reduce speed and proceed with caution due to the upcoming uneven or lowered section of the road.

By offering this visual cue, the stencil aims to enhance road safety by forewarning drivers of the road condition ahead, prompting them to slow down and navigate the dip carefully, thereby reducing the risk of accidents or discomfort caused by sudden changes in the road surface.
