    Works well for putting in contacts

    I bought this for my 6th grade son who was having a hard time getting close to the mirror to manipulate his contacts, and being a beginner, he was already frustrated with them falling off his finger. Looking straight down into a mirror on the counter did not work very well either. His eye doctor gave a mirror like this to use at his second visit and it worked so well. She placed it it horizontally so it had a slight slope instead of the way it is pictured. I immediately got on Amazon to find one. He is so happy to have it!
    It feels like plexiglass, but the mirror has a quality reflection.

    Bought this for my guinea fowl. They love looking at themselves, but obviously a glass mirror is a bad idea for their coop. My main goal was finding a mirror that would hold up to their pecking (can't have the little suckers eating broken glass). I was pleasantly surprised by what a good quality mirror this is. The image is clear and bright with no distortions. It's holding up very well and only has a few small scratches on the surface, which I think is pretty impressive considering the amount of pecking it's been exposed to. If I needed a free standing mirror for my own use, I wouldn't hesitate to order another one of these.

    My new review: I humbly admit that a 5th grader figured out the problem with the mirror that I described below. He peeled off a plastic film that was not visible from any of the edges of the item. I had inspected it earlier looking for such a film but found no evidence of one. In the end, I've decided this is a terrific product! Light weight and very clear.

    My previous review entitled "Not a mirror" : Do not buy this product. Nowhere in the description does it mention that it is merely a cheap piece of plastic that is less reflectent and clear than a shiny party balloon. My toddler has toys containing real mirrors of plastic, so I don't know why this couldn't be made with better quality. I cannot imagine any student using it for self portrait or any speech therapist using it for articulation therapy.

    Great lightweight mirror at a great price!

    I admit I was nervous about buying this particular mirror after reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I did. This mirror is crystal clear and very lightweight. I was worried it wasn't going to work at all because it feels like it's made out of plastic and it even says "Creative fun for young minds" so I assumed it was a child's mirror, for play but once you peel the film off (see photos) it is absolutely as clear as any other mirror and it was exactly the size & weight I needed at a reasonable price. 5 stars Great little mirror.*****
    ( which by the way if anyone IS looking for a mirror for a young child, this says for ages 3 & up and it seems to be made out of something that is lightweight and seems unbreakable, just so you know)
